Friday Night With Friends

Tonight I decided to join the "Friday Night With Friends"
Since I am sewing or stitching every Friday night anyways
I thought it would be fun to play along.
I worked on the 12 blocks I am making for
the Sandy Quilt Block Drive.
Leave it to me to wait until the last minute.....sheesh.
I have the 12 blocks done except for the final
2" strips around the outside.
It's late and I'm tired
so I'll finish them tomorrow or Monday.
for these blocks.
I realize that I'm not very good at "random".
I used scraps and tried my very best to
make these blocks super scrappy,
but I just have a super hard time
trying not to be all match-y match-y.
Either way, I am hoping that whoever
ends up with this quilt,
that they will feel the love and prayers
that are going into it.
I can't imagine how hard it is to lose
your home and everything in it.

  1. they look lovely.......great job!

  2. They do look great, I struggle with random too :) I am sure whomever receives it will appreciate the thought and effort

  3. Delightful blocks that are sure to brighten someone's day - lucky recipient.

  4. They look really vibrant and exciting...lovely work.

  5. Your blocks are beautiful! Colorful and happy.

  6. it was great to sew with you and what a wonderful project you are working on.... i think a lot of us struggle with 'random'...

  7. Put your fabrics in a paper bag, close your eyes and pull out a piece. If it's the same as the previous piece, pick another one. If not, use it! Random won't always mean equally spaced colour and prints, but that's the beauty of it - especially when it's combined with wonky! :D

  8. Beautiful and the recipient will love it too! Great job!

  9. Your block sewing is beautiful Karen, and the quilt will be well-loved by someone who will appreciate the time taken to provide such a lovely item for them.

  10. Love the fabrics you have used so bright and fresh.

  11. It IS hard when you are a Matchy-Matchy Gal to suddenly GoScrappy, but I think you did a great job, and the recipient of the quilt will too.

I'm visiting from Friday Night With Friends and am so glad I popped into your Sew Much 2 Luv blog. We seem to have alot in common and I've added you to my Sidebar Sewing Friends and am a new Follower. Look forward to visiting you again.
