2012 After Christmas Sew Along

Well here we go!
I'm so excited about all the generous people who are
supplying us with discount codes and fabulous prizes
to make this a really fun month of sewing!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

The Details:
The fun starts Monday January 2nd.

#1. Sew anything you like.
It can be Christmas themed or not.
I'll be sewing Christmas decor for my home
since I never have the time to do that.
Most of us are constantly sewing for others
and seldom get the chance to sew for ourselves.
You can even get a jump start on gifts
for next Christmas if you want to.
It's totally up to you.

#2. Every Monday, begining January 2nd for 4 weeks,
I will post a link to a  flicker group
for you to share photos of your creations.
Each Monday there will be a completely new group
for that week only.
A winner will be chosen at random every Friday evening
and I will post the winner on
this blog on Saturday.
You can join in at any time!

That's it....easy peasy!
Just have fun!!!

Well, there you have it!
I personally can't wait to get started!

I just love the idea of sewing for the pure joy of it
and not having any deadlines or pressure!
So if you're interested in playing along,
grab a button and spread the word!

And if you have the time,
leave me a comment
and let me know what you are planning on sewing.

Yay! I'm the 1st to comment! I can't wait for this Sew Along. Even though I work full time, I still hope to participate some how. I plan on sewing an apron for my mom and maybe a quilted table topper or 2 and starting on a quilt for my new granddaughter! Thanks for all the yummy prizes too!

Lindsay(PACountryCrafts)

Great idea!!!
I owe my baby nephew a quilt. I want to make a bag for myself, and I am sure there are some UFOs I can tackle! :)

I tried to post your button, but I am getting a little red X instead of the picture. Hmmm...

Karen

Sorry guys....just fixed the blog button. Should work fine now :)

Sandie ~call me crazy

Oh I'd love to join y'all, but not sure about posting to flickr.. I'm rather computer illiterate. :-o But I will try! Have a happy day!

Shellee

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm actually working on a couple things this month. A herd of cow themed kitchen stuff for my sister, along with a cow purse, and her wedding veil...not cow themed!

@pril

I plan to join.

This is going to be so fun! I have yet to complete a Christmas quilt, so I think I will work on that. I always feel better equipped to deal with Christmas things in January. There's just less going on ;)

val

I'm playing along...but may have to squeeze in a crocheted item or two since I'm making gifts for next Christmas!

Marcia

I am totally in :-)!

Mª del Pilar

Me gustaría participar aunque no sé si lo conseguiré pues mi inglés es básico, pero bueno, yo me anoto y lo intento.

Hello! I just found you via Craft Gossip, and I added you to my Google Reader... great blog!

The first thing I will be making is a tooth pillow for my granddaughter who turns 5 on Feb. 1st!

CrustyCupcakes

Awesome! Just the inspiration I need to dust off the ol' machine!

Cherise

The first thing I'll be working on will be finishing up my daughter's quilt I gave her for Christmas and then took back because it wasn't finished yet. This time it will be a joy to work on since I won't be stressing about it. :) Thanks for such a great sew-a-long Karen. Thanks to the sponsors for the awesome discounts and prizes! Looking forward to it! :)

The domestic Groove

This is very exciting. I want to make 2 faux chenille baby blankets. That is my goal. Thanks for the incentive to get going. I just got back from Joann's so I am ready to roll!

Wendy

OH go on then, you've twisted my arm! No idea what I'll make yet, or how I'll fit it in with working full time, but I'll give it a go! I'm not very clear on the rules though - do we have to post on the Monday or do we have a week to post?

Tabatha

This is sooo cool. I can't wait to start!

Debbie M

Grabbed the button--and going to sew along. hopefully I can squeeze something in tomorrow evening--I am having my grandson for a couple nights and Grams has to play! My first project on the table is a Pouch Pad. I found the pattern in the fall issue of Quiltmaker's Small Quilts & Gifts magazine. And the fabric is "Max & Whiskers" by moda. This is perfect for my new yard puppy "Bonnnie" a 4 month old Jack Russell Terrier whose purpose on the farm is to rid us of the moles!

Debbie M

OOppppps! that is supposed to be a Pooch Pad :)

Kiddylander

Well can't wait to start a newbie here..

katiebug92

Oooh, I might join in!

Genevieve

I've always wanted to participate in one of these. I guess the time here! I've been promising my 4 yr old a backpack. I'd also like to make cases for my youngest 2 Innotabs. It'll be fun designing something easy for them to use and store not only the devices but games. Yay.

judys

I owe my brother a quilt (rag) and I have a few things that didn't get done BEFORE Christmas, so this would be a wonderful way to be helped to get them done!

Susan

I have been looking for a way to focus on and finish the projects I have, before I dream up new ones. Your sew along sounds like a good way for me to do just that. I will begin with a purple poncho my daughter has be asking for. I am so happy to join your group.
Sue

Jennifer

Super idea and I'm looking forward to joining in weekly. This is just the sew along challenge that I need to start the year off. Thanks so much for hosting!

Lynda

I just found you via Craft Gossip - and think this is a great idea - this a great way to get back to sewing in the new year - first project will be a case for my dpns I think ;0)

By Cee Cee

I decided on an I Spy quilt- I participated in a swap last summer and have yet to put it all together. I am already calling it "Letting Go" and just sewing the pieces together randomly (ok- I sorted them by color- but the rest is random!)....not easy to just let go.....but if I work on it fast enough I won't have a chooice :)

Simone de Klerk

How fun is this! And such great prizes!
I am planning to make 2 small table toppers with the 12 Days of Christmas blocks (http://temeculaquiltco.blogspot.com/). So simple, yet so sweet. That would make 2 presents for Christmas already (o:

Nanna
