Yesterday I received a 35 pound box of fabric!
I know......right?
When it arrived,
I was so exicited!!!
Connecting Threads offers boxes of scraps
to Non-profit organizations
so I applied for our church's sewing ministry.
"Crafty Chicks" is having a sewing day this coming Saturday
June 8th from 10am to 1pm.
Bring you own machine if you have one,
if not, we have a few spares.
If you live in the area,
please stop by and join the fun!
We'll be at Branches Christian Church
8381 Katella Ave Unit J
Stanton, Ca 90680.
I'd love to meet you!
So I spent a few hours just organizing and stacking
the fabric that was stuffed into our goodie box.
How cool is that?
In other fabric news,
I finished up 4 new sets of potholders
for the shop.
And 10 new project bags :)
The faces on these Owlies just kills me.
Seriously how cute are they?
Wow! What a great, big box of fabric. What a wonderful thing you are doing with your church.
ReplyDeleteYour potholders and project bags are just adorable! Hope you are having a good week.
dang girl, you guys are gonna have some sewing fun!
ReplyDeleteStrangely, the pink toile attracts me
I like the pink toile too, but the bird houses are fun. Fun stuff Karen!
ReplyDeleteIf you weren't 4,074 kms away I'd be there in a heartbeat - I bet you'll have a blast on Saturday - I hope there will be pictures :D
ReplyDeleteLove your new projects - I think I have some of that pink toile downstairs - it looks great with the gingham!
Wow! I didn't know Connecting Threads did that! That is awesome. I belong to a quilting group who makes quilt for Wrap Them In Love. We have donated lots of quilts to children in need like children's homes. Do you think they would donate to us? Love your projects!! They are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful. Iam doing a project makeing mug rugs for The breast Care Center at one of the larger hospitals in our area. I am makeing each staff member a breast cancer awareenss mug rug. I am not a non profit organization. Just trying to giveback to those ladies that give so much each day to the 100 plus patients they see and treat each day. Your church is lucky that they can receive the non profit tax donations of fabrics from companys. As an indvividual all most every single shop I asked but one would not donate to me for community sevice projects. Blessigns to you and the others that work with you on your community service projects. What a wonderful thing you all are doing.Keep up the great work.
