Apron Progress :)

Here are the first 4 aprons that are ready for my etsy shop :) I feel like I"m making progress although I was sure I'd be farther along by now. I do have 5 owlies 1/2 way done, so that counts too right? Anyhoo, I also have my artwork and logos done for the shop and my fabric labels are being made. So I'm guessing maybe another 2 weeks and I'll be able to announce that the shop is open for business! I'll have a special offer available to those of you who are "followers" of my blog :) I guess it's a good thing that I have to wait unitl January 17th to get the info on my Flirty Apron Swap partner, so that forces me to remain focused on getting more aprons done before I get involved making the swap apron.

  1. oooooooooo Love apron number two!!
Is the tie in a casing so it's adjustable??? Separate facing for just folded over!!!???
Good luck in your new venture!!!

  2. It's a seperate facing. This is my favorite apron pattern. By using 3 different fabrics I think it makes it totally fun. I used cotton duck fabric to make them sturdy and still cute for everyday. I like the look of the more cutie-pie aprons, but for me, they are more for holidays than everyday. I like the roosters too...weird huh?

  4. did you make the pattern or get it from somewhere? I saw this technique with bits of twill tape along the edge and thought a facing would be much better. guess someone beat me to the punch. LOL Love the chickens.
That apron is all chick without being frilly.

  5. It's McCalls 5551 from 2007. On the front of the pattern envelope it's done in one fabric so it's hard to see the pocket detail or the casings. It looks like a generic Chef's apron. I bought the pattern for one of the other views. It wasn't until I was going through the pattern pieces that I saw how cool it was. It's the same pattern I used for my sunflower apron that I wear everyday.

  6. I'll check my stash. i be I have it. LOL But you're right, without the different colors, it looks like a plain ol chef style apron. I could've skipped it. luckily, I know how to draw my own casing. :-)

  7. I love the first apron. Chocolate brown and red are two of my favorite colors and I love butterflies so I think your apron is a winning combination! I'm glad you're getting a head start on the sewing for your shop. I can't wait to see your shop open.
