April Showers

Today I hosted a baby shower for my beautiful daughter-in-law April :) She is carrying our very first grand-daughter. It was fun to be able to bust out the pink and orange!

I always like to make something fun for the front door :)

Now I can show the items that I worked on for her gifts. I made a nursing cover for her and some flannel backed burp cloths. She had sent me a link to a company that makes nursing covers that are a bit different that the usual ones. These have darts at the bottom of the cover that form a kind of cocoon around the baby when you are nursing. So I kept looking at the photo of the one she wanted and came up with my own version. I used the brown fabric with the orange butterflies that she had mentioned earlier that she really liked. She was very happy with it. I also read a while back on one woman's blog that she used flannel to back her
burp cloths and that the flannel works as a kind of
"magnet" to stick to your shirt so that you are not constantly picking up the cloth diaper from the floor. Made sense to me, so I made 1/2 dozen burp cloths backed in flannel in some really fun Riley Blake prints. I also embroidered a small pink heart with an "S" for Sofia on each one.  So we played some word games and chatted and ate some yummy chicken salad and fruit and chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to serve pink lemonade :)My daughter Kristina made the cutest flower shaped cake pops as favors. Yum :) .

Marcia made the most darling changing pad and wipes carrier!

Auntie Sandra gave her the blanket and receiving blankets that she really wanted!

Auntie Sandra also included this darling rattle!

Amy made these beautiful burp cloths!

Oma made 3 different Boppy covers!

Regena made this fun bath apron and darling bibs!

Kristina bought Sofia  this "I love my Auntie" outfit :)

Nana had to buy these adorable hats :)

April really wanted leggings for Sofie....so how could I resist?
