Purple?

I'm not usually a fan of purple....
or blue either for that matter.
But this fabric jumped out at me
on my last shopping trip.
I am a fan of paisley however,
so maybe that had something to do with it?
Anywhoooo......
since I sold all of my full aprons
I knew I needed to get busy and sew a few new ones.
This one is in my Etsy shop right now
and I'm working on another one.
Hopefully I'll get a few listed
in time for the last minute shoppers :)

*Whew* I made it........

I'm such a "last minute" girl.
I'm just really glad I managed to get these Sandy blocks done
and in today's mail before the deadline.
I've never used black as a border before
and I have to say...it's pretty stinkin awesome!
We were told to use black or a dark color
to make the blocks "pop".
I wish I could see this quilt when it's finished,
but I don't think I will.

Well....now that my project is done
I can get back to sewing some new aprons for my shop.
I picked up some fun fabrics this morning
at M & L (it the last day of their sale)
and it's time to get to cuttin!

Friday Night With Friends

Tonight I decided to join the "Friday Night With Friends"
Since I am sewing or stitching every Friday night anyways
I thought it would be fun to play along.
I worked on the 12 blocks I am making for
the Sandy Quilt Block Drive.
Leave it to me to wait until the last minute.....sheesh.
Anywhoooo.....
I have the 12 blocks done except for the final
2" strips around the outside.
It's late and I'm tired
so I'll finish them tomorrow or Monday.
for these blocks.
I realize that I'm not very good at "random".
I used scraps and tried my very best to
make these blocks super scrappy,
but I just have a super hard time
trying not to be all match-y match-y.
Either way, I am hoping that whoever
ends up with this quilt,
that they will feel the love and prayers
that are going into it.
I can't imagine how hard it is to lose
your home and everything in it.

Sweet Treats

I thought a few donut pincushions would be a fun
addition to my boutique this coming Sunday.
I found the donut pattern a while ago
in "Quilts and More" magazine Winter 2010.
They are made from wool felt
with beads added for the "sprinkles".
I found these treat boxes at Michaels
that are the perfect size!
I mean seriously....
how cute is that?
I'm sure I'll have some left
for my etsy shop :)

And talking about sweet treats,
one of my little granddaughters
was wearing her new Nana outfit yesterday!
How sweet is that????

I just couldn't wait......

These are supposed to be for Christmas,
but clearly this -----> Nana can't wait.
I'm going to give them to the girls today.
(they don't know that Christmas is still weeks away, right?)
I found these darling long sleeved onesies
at Old Navy.
How could I not buy them?
Yes, they are green,
(not my first choice)
but it was the only color they came in.
And yes, the lettering is a strange salmon-y pink.
(not the easiest color to match)

BUT......

as I was going through my stash of fabrics
I came across some Denise Schmidt fabric
with the EXACT same pink and green!!!!
Who knew that
when I squirreled away those fabrics
that one day
they would be the perfect match????
AND......

I actually bought those DS fabrics
at Joann's in the clearance section?

Win Win...right?

Why don't she write?

If you've ever seen the movie "Dances with Wolves"
you'll remember the line where Kevin Costner and his guide
come across some settlers who have been killed by Indians
and the guide says "I'll bet there's someone back east
wonderin'  Why Don't He Write?"
In our family we use movie quotes WAY too often!
But that line came to mind when I realized that
I haven't posted much on my blog lately.

Well as you can see,
I've been spending some time with my grands.
Evie was helping me keep my thread organized :)
And I was working on the boutique last week
and now I'm working on another boutique
that will be this coming Sunday afternoon.

If you are in my neighborhood
stop on by!!!
It will be Sunday Dec 9th from 2:00 - 6:00 pm
at 3414 W. Glen Holly Drive Anaheim, CA 92804
Everyone who attends will receive a FREE GIFT!

Here's a few of the Christmas coaster sets
I'm working on.
I think they make a cute hostess gift :)

I'm also working on some Christmas gifties that I can't show just yet.
Hope you are all having a lovely December!!!

A few more goodies.......

My handsome hubby had Friday and Saturday off from work
so I spent the weekend hanging out with him.
It was so nice to be able to sleep in!
We even took a motorcycle ride on Saturday :)
I did manage to get a few more goodies done
for the craft show this coming Wednesday.
I made some cup cozies.
A few for the guys and a few for the gals.
I'm working on a few more today.
I also finished the 3rd Christmas mug rug.

My evening stitching produced this darling
little piece by Little House Needleworks called "Woodland Sampling".

Then today I made the mistake of going to M & L yardage.
I only needed 1/2 yd of Kona for the dolls I'm working on.
Look what came home with me.....

I have no excuse.........
