First off, I just need to say a big "Thank You"
to Al Gore for inventing the Internet! (wink wink)
I don't know what I'd do without it!!!
I mean, I find so much inspiration
from so many wonderful bloggers!
This particular table runner was inspired
If you love cross stitch you HAVE to check our her blog!
I love that she used a finished cross stitch piece
and made a table runner out of it!
I was stuck in the
"either make a pillow or have it framed" rut.
So I took my 3 finished pumpkin stitcheries
and looked through my fabric stash
and found these wonderful prints
from Robert Kaufman called "Nutmeg".
They matched perfectly!
The only problem I had is that they are 3 different sizes.
So I gave a 1/4" here and there
and made them look like they belong together.....
sort of :)
Since the fabric prints are so wonderfully busy already
I just did a simple "stitch in the ditch" machine quilting.
I bought this fabric to make myself a Thanksgiving apron
and luckily I still have enough left to do just that!
Win - Win!
The internet is great, ain't it? It's so great to see how other people's mind's work...sometimes it's just the push we need to jump out of our little creative boxes!ReplyDelete
It looks great and I love the orangy jewel tones!
I LOVE this! The fabrics are great (especially that large print) and the stitched pieces coordinate so nicely. What a great way finish for your projects!ReplyDelete
I LOVE the way your mind says "well, ummm what can I make with this and that" and then a beautiful creation is born. Your table runner is creative and beautiful (I am now sighing blissfully) :-).ReplyDelete
Your finished project turned out great! Everything went together perfectly...and yes Faye's blog is awesome. She is super creative. :)ReplyDelete

Once again, another beautiful project!ReplyDelete
Wow, I love your table runner... those fabrics are just gorgeous! You are so right about the inspiration on the internet.. in one way it's a blessing as it pushes me to try new things... but on the other hand I can spend hours just blog hopping and oohing and aahing that I don't get much sewing done!ReplyDelete
Very nice and I love the idea of showcasing finished cross-stitch into something other than a pillow or framed. Great, perfect idea!ReplyDelete
Your table runner is the perfect thing to showcase your cross stitching talent and your quilting, Karen! Looks just great :)ReplyDelete
